SUPPLY SCOPE:
The sound haven measuring 3.6 x 3.0 in plan incorporated a single leaf access door with acoustic brush seals and numerous glazed panels.
Ventilation was provided via a 200 dia Rotorex fan and associated inlet and outlet silencers. Within the haven an AC lighting system and electric heater were also provided.
The entire unit was supplied, and installed by Wakefield Acoustics Ltd
PRODUCT SELECTION AND PERFORMANCE:
The haven was been designed to reduce the noise exposure level to below 78dB(A) when measured at 1 metre from the front of the enclosure.

APPLICATION DETAILS:
Acoustic Screen for Bio-Drying Fans
SUPPLY SCOPE:
Design, supply and installation of 2 no. acoustic screens positioned to the front of biodrying fans and associated ductwork.
Acoustic panels were manufactured from pre-galvanised sheet steel, with acoustic insulation wrapped and sealed in a melinex membrane to prevent water ingress. The screens were supported by mild steel posts, galvanised after manufacture. Each screen was in the order of 22-25m long x 3m high, in line with the acoustic consultants requirements for the project.
The entire screen was supplied self-finish (unpainted)
Access into the plant areas was provided via 2 no. single leaf doors, complete with external slam latch, and internal emergency push release
PRODUCT SELECTION AND PERFORMANCE:
The acoustic panels offered a direct transmission loss of approx. 25dBA. Screen height and performance determined by the project acoustic consultant.

APPLICATION DETAILS:
Silencer for dust extraction stack
SUPPLY SCOPE:
Supply and installation of circular silencer for dust extraction exhaust stack to reduce noise emissions to nearby residential areas.
To permit installation, the stack was disconnected from the system, lowered, cut on site and re-erected complete with the new silencer. The 1350mm diameter x 3500mm long silencer was designed with thick outer walls to improve the level of low frequency performance.
External surfaces of the unit were painted with a 2-coat epoxy coating.
PRODUCT SELECTION AND PERFORMANCE:
A series of pre-galvanised acoustic enclosures and acoustic attenuators for large industrial fans were designed and manufactured for this large waste to energy plant. The enclosures incorporated a series of hinged and removable access panels along with an attenuated ventilation system.
Duct mounted attenuators were designed to suit the system operational temperatures and pressures with external casings being fabricated from materials up to 8mm thickness.
PROJECT PERFORMANCE:
Equipment was selected to comply with stringent acoustic performances to meet environmental noise limits. Overall performance requirements for the individual items ranged from 36dB(A) to 38 dB(A) reduction which were checked and verified by the clients independent project acoustic consultant.

PRODUCT SELECTION AND PERFORMANCE:
A series of pre-galvanised acoustic enclosures and acoustic attenuators for large industrial fans were designed and manufactured for this large waste to energy plant. The enclosures incorporated a series of hinged and removable access panels along with an attenuated ventilation system.
Duct mounted attenuators were designed to suit the system operational temperatures and pressures with external casings being fabricated from materials up to 8mm thickness.

PROJECT:
Glazing Manufacturing
Application Details:
Blower room acoustic enclosure and inlet attenuator
SUPPLY SCOPE:
The blower room enclosure measured approx. 9.5m long x 7.8m wide 3.6m high, and was sat on a platform (supplied and installed by others), 4m above ground level. Acoustic panels for the platform floor were also supplied.
Inlet air for the blower plant was drawn through a large 5m wide x 3.6m high attenuator mounted on the side wall of the enclosure. The attenuator was extended out from the platform, and supported by means of a steel ‘goal-post’ frame.
Installation was undertaken on site, and required the use of a mini-crane for lifting of the components
PRODUCT SELECTION AND PERFORMANCE:
The enclosure and attenuator were selected to reduce noise levels to 80dBA within the factory, in order to reduce noise to the first action level of the Control of Noise at Work Regulations 2015.

PROJECT:
Stack Silencer and Fan Enclosures
Application Details:
Plastic Manufacturing Facility
SUPPLY SCOPE:
The fan enclosures were approximately 3.6m long x 2.8m wide and 2.6m high and were fitted with quick release access panels and also designed as fully demountable for all types of maintenance purposes.
The stack silencer being some 2.5m long and circa 2.4m Square was manufactured from a fully welded thick plate 304 stainless steel and was externally lagged halfway to reduce casing breakout. The stiffened construction complete with square to round to suit 2.0m diameter outlet was designed with the capability to withstand the compression load of the stack above.
The acoustic media was wrapped in ‘Melinex’ moisture resistant membrane
PRODUCT SELECTION AND PERFORMANCE:
The enclosures and the stack silencer were selected to reduce the equipment noise levels to 75dB(A) either 1 metre from the fan or 1 metre from the open air outlet whilst handling in excess of 83000 NM3/hr.

SUPPLY SCOPE:
The Acoustic Enclosure 5.0m Long x 2.0m wide x 3.0m high was manufactured from pre – galvanised mild steel and included acoustic panelling complete with absorptive mineral wool.
The complete enclosure was manufactured, delivered and installed using our own in house installation team.
PRODUCT SELECTION AND PERFORMANCE:
The enclosure was designed using our own acoustic calculation programmes to provide in excess of 20 dB(A) reduction to reduce the air outlet noise level by over 20dB(A).

SUPPLY SCOPE:
The 2.0m long x 5.7m wide x 3.5m high Acoustic Enclosure is manufactured from pre – galvanised mild steel complete with Melinex wrapped acoustic infill. Incorporated in the enclosure design are large ‘L-Sharp sliding’ door and bi-fold doors for maintenance access, a forced ventilation system, internal lighting and a Co² safety system.
A central partition complete with a powered roller shutter door is also included in the acoustic enclosure structure.
The complete enclosure was manufactured, delivered and installed using our own in house installation team.

SUPPLY SCOPE:
The bespoke acoustic enclosures are designed and manufactured to provide a noise reduction from industrial machinery at the oxide manufacturing mill. Incorporated in each enclosure design is:
- An access opening with closure plates for inlet conveyor
- Acoustically lined ‘turret’ to house the steam ventilation ductwork mounted on the roof of the enclosure
- Hinged access panels with quick release toggle catches for fast maintenance access
PRODUCT SELECTION AND PERFORMANCE:
The enclosures are designed and manufactured to deliver a nominal 10-12dB noise reduction.
